Orthopaedic surgeon Claire Hays, MD, is originally from Lake Charles. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biological science from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and her Medical Degree from LSU Health Sciences Center – Shreveport School of Medicine in Shreveport, Louisiana. She completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Tennessee – Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee, and a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Hays has been involved in numerous, published research projects relating to orthopaedic surgery. She is board-eligible, and a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons
